New Year

Updated: Apr 25

Years ago I had the privilege of meeting two of these legends: Mark Kibble and Claude McKnight. I was a lowly beginner but hoped to find the right path from the start to grow musically. My biggest takeaway was to listen listen listen to more music from more and varied artists especially music with complex harmonies to inform my musical ear as well as picking up stylistic subtleties. I'll always appreciate the time I got to spend with them and the wonderful people I found them to be.

Though I'm bogged down with raising my kids and a new one on the way now, I am sharing what I learned with them and feel so blessed to have been at the Singing Success Retreat and able to help them get ahead at a young age. Meanwhile I am learning with them waiting for the time when I can finish what I started so long ago.

I make a point of listening to lots of singers and groups with heavy harmonies with the kids. The old Dr Seuss cartoon adaptations have some interesting music of that sort sprinkled in.
